There's deadly business to be done, and she's ready and able to see it done. The black gloves, the crossed arms, the canted shoulders, the steely calm of her gaze, all point to a resolve to do what is necessary.
The combination of the blood red with the stark black and white conveys the same message. The pretty dress, the well-formed features and the hovering birds speak of an everywoman femininity, but femininity without weakness or apology.
The three death's heads (versus four scoundrels and coffins) suggest incompleteness, or unfinished business. Perhaps she is the fourth, the angel of death in mild demeanor.
I am fascinated by the four coffins already holding the figures laid to rest. Are they anticipating the scoundrels they will soon hold, or are they remembering past evils soon to be requited? The small size of the occupants make me think of the tormented children of the world whose shed blood calls out for justice.
Very well done.
Blessings,
Steve
(I find the star ratings distinctly unhelpful, so I simply put them all at four.)
